Pixel Art: Dr. Manhattan

Notes:

  1. He needed eyes. A couple pixels at 64×64 did the job. For the ultra-fine detail on the forehead atom symbol, I had to go all the way down to 256×256 resolution. I could have done it at 512×512, also.
  2. I need to think about away to do a glow effect. Maybe just a gaussian blur, but I don’t know if that is right for pixel art. For now, this works.

Pixel Art: Lex Luthor

Notes:

  1. The classic purple-pink and green costume.
  2. I didn’t want to do facial features, but I thought that his arched eyebrows were important enough features to try to represent them. Just four pixels at 64×64 resolution does the trick.

Pixel Art: Mysterio

Notes:

  1. Man, there sure are a lot of 60’s Marvel villains who have green outfits with yellow boots and gloves.
  2. I like the way I did the transparency of the dome helmet on this one. I just used the color picker to select a darker version of the blue I used for the dome glass.

Pixel Art: Gambit

Notes:

  1. I used three shades of brown. The hair and the inside of the trenchcoat are the middle brown, the outside of the coat is lighter, and I used a third color brown for the quarterstaff because if I need to animate it, it’s bound to conflict with the other brown, leading to parts of the drawing getting lost in the muddle.
